A Child Development Center is seeking an Educational Leader who will lead their special education early childhood center-based program. The Educational Leader will supervise staff, promote high quality instructional practices, cultivate strong relationships with families and provide ongoing training and support to our faculty to meet the unique needs of all students.
Responsibilities:
Recruit and hire educational staff
Establish positive relationships and communicate with all stakeholders including school personnel and parents
Conduct student intakes, providing parents with detailed information about their child’s development based on clinical observations
Lead annual team meetings for all students with parents and all team members
Provide ongoing training, professional development and supervision for educational staff based on the Floortime model
Model Floortime-based play sessions to teaching staff
Oversee the implementation of the school curriculum
Provide constructive feedback to teachers on classroom instruction and weekly lesson plans
Qualifications:
Background and interest in the DIR/Floortime approach
Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood development across all domains and levels
Deeply caring and compassionate to children with disabilities
Strong interpersonal skills
Exceptional leadership capabilities
Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Effective in fostering positive relationships and effectively communicating with all team members
Capable of motivating staff around the school vision
Highly motivated, passionate and dedicated professional
Education and Experience Requirements
5+ years of early childhood teaching experience
Leadership experience
NYSED Teaching Certification
A Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field is required
Bilingual Yiddish
Salary: $130K+
