Credit Manager

A pharmaceutical firm is looking to hire a Collections Specialist. The applicant will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debts owed to the company. They will need to recover unpaid balances from customers or clients through effective communication, negotiation, and adherence to established policies and procedures.

Contact customers or clients with overdue accounts to discuss payment options and facilitate debt resolution.
Utilize various communication channels, including phone calls, emails, and letters, to engage with debtors and negotiate payment arrangements.
Document all interactions and payment agreements in the collection system or database accurately and promptly.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize collection efforts.
Analyze account histories and payment patterns to develop strategies for resolving outstanding balances.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to billing or payment issues.
Provide courteous and professional customer service to debtors, addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner.
Educate customers on payment terms, late fees, and consequences of non-payment while maintaining a respectful and empathetic approach.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities, correspondence, and payment transactions.
Prepare and submit reports on collection activities, account statuses, and performance metrics as required.
Collaborate with internal departments, such as billing, accounting, and legal, to resolve complex collection issues and escalate unresolved cases as necessary.
Coordinate with external partners, including collection agencies or legal counsel, to pursue legal remedies for persistent delinquencies or account disputes.

Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable management, or customer service role.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Location: New Jersey
Salary: $150K+
