Occupational Therapist for Early Childhood (OT)

A large Medical facility is looking to hire an OT/OT assistant for early Intervention. The candidate will work with infants and toddlers  developmental delays or disabilities. The primary goal will be to support these children in achieving developmental milestones and enhancing their overall quality of life. The candidate will need to collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create individualized intervention plans tailored to each child's specific needs.

 

Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the developmental strengths and challenges of infants and toddlers.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on promoting the acquisition of age-appropriate skills in areas such as fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, self-care, and socialization.
Provide direct occupational therapy services, including therapeutic activities, exercises, and interventions.
Educate parents and caregivers on strategies to support their child's development and integrate therapeutic activities into daily routines.
Collaborate with other early intervention team members, such as speech therapists, physical therapists, special educators, and social workers, to coordinate services and ensure a holistic approach to care.
Monitor progress regularly and adjust intervention plans as needed to address evolving needs and goals.
Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and other relevant information in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and evidence-based interventions in the field of early intervention and pediatric occupational therapy.

 

Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Valid state license or certification as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children, preferably in a pediatric or early intervention setting.
Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration theory, and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Compassion, patience, and flexibility in adapting to the individual needs and abilities of each child.
Flexible Hours: FT/PT

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Salary: $100K Plus
