Head Buyer

A HVAC  (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) firm is looking to hire an experienced head buyer. The applicant will be responsible in sourcing high-quality equipment to negotiating favourable terms with suppliers and manage the daily operations. 


Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and budgetary constraints. This involves understanding market trends, supplier capabilities, and technological advancements in HVAC equipment.

Maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and negotiating contracts to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. This might involve conducting supplier evaluations, monitoring performance, and resolving any issues that arise.

Evaluate the quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of HVAC products and equipment from various manufacturers. This includes assessing factors such as energy efficiency, warranty terms, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Work to optimize costs throughout the procurement process, identifying opportunities for cost savings without sacrificing quality or performance. This might involve implementing bulk purchasing strategies, exploring alternative suppliers, or negotiating volume discounts.

Oversee inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of critical HVAC components and equipment while minimizing excess inventory and associated carrying costs. This requires balancing demand forecasts with lead times and consumption rates.

Needs to collaborate closely with other departments, such as engineering, operations, and finance, to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with broader organizational objectives. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.
