Government Contracts Bids specialist

A Uniform manufacturer and distributor is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Government Contracts Bids Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and coordinate the process of bidding for government contracts, particularly in the realm of GSA Sales, focusing on clients such as public schools, government agencies, and other public sector entities. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of government procurement processes, and a proven track record of successful contract bidding.



  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on government procurement opportunities, including GSA schedules, RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitations relevant to public schools and government agencies.

  • Bid Preparation: Prepare and compile comprehensive bids and proposals in response to government solicitations, ensuring compliance with all requirements and regulations.

  • Coordinate Bid Process: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, legal, finance, and operations, to gather necessary information and resources for bid preparation.

  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and organized records of all bid documents, contracts, amendments, and correspondence related to government contracts.

  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including SAM registration, certifications (e.g., small business, minority-owned), and other compliance standards.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with government contracting officers, procurement officials, and other key stakeholders to enhance the organization's visibility and competitiveness in the government contracting arena.

  • Contract Negotiation: Assist in contract negotiation processes, including pricing, terms, and conditions, to secure favorable agreements for the organization.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor contract performance and compliance post-award, including reporting obligations, deliverables, and modifications as needed.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities related to government contracting, providing insights and recommendations to the management team.

  • Training and Development: Stay updated on changes in government procurement regulations, policies, and procedures, and provide training and guidance to internal teams as necessary.



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government contracting, specifically in bidding for GSA Sales.

  • Strong understanding of federal procurement regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and GSA Schedule requirements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with government contracting databases and platforms (e.g.,, GSA eBuy) is a plus.
